Pimsoft welcomed attendees to our annual Sigmafine Users Meeting on October 21-22, 2014 at the Hilton Westchase Hotel. Sigmafine users and companies interested in Shaping Data for Action gathered to speak and learn more about how Sigmafine maximizes the value of information by providing the best available and technically possible data quality at all times.
Day 1 of the meeting started with an overview of Pimsoft’s vision and the importance of data quality. Throughout the day, Pimsoft representatives shared the Sigmafine development roadmap, customer use cases, and how users can take advantage of different Sigmafine offerings.
Guest speakers revealed how Sigmafine is utilized at their sites and what they saw as the next steps in their Sigmafine usage. During the Q&A portion of the event, the guest speakers also answered questions about their daily Sigmafine routines, including how they handled end of month closing, custody meters, BS&W, and more.
On Day 2, attendees took advantage of the Sigmafine Users Exchange to share their loss reporting processes, discuss system integration needs, and provide feedback about Sigmafine products. Pimsoft will use the information collected from the Users Exchange to further develop and improve our products and services.
Pimsoft customers who attended include users from Phillips 66, Flint Hills Resources, HollyFrontier, Cheniere LNG, Hunt Refining, Calumet Superior, and more. We invite existing and future users of Sigmafine as well as Sigmafine implementation partners and professionals to join us for SFUM 2015 in Houston.

Cherry PetersonProduct Accounting Team Leader, Phillips 66 CompanyAs the Product Accounting Team Leader at Sweeny Refinery, Cherry and her team are responsible for all of the incoming feedstock receipts, outgoing product shipments, in-plant transfers, and inventories for both the refinery and their neighboring joint venture partner Chevron Phillips Chemical Company.Cherry has over eight years of experience in her current role. From 1998 until 2006, she performed other Finance roles at Sweeny including Financial Performance & Analysis Coordinator and other joint venture and accounting roles.
Kenny HarbisonYield & Loss Control Database Administrator, Hunt Refining CompanyAt Hunt Refining’s Tuscaloosa Refinery, Kenny maintains four different software applications on two different platforms: Sigmafine, BOSS, TIS, & OMM. He also provides training for the DCS Operators who work with the same applications. Kenny works with the database analyst to ensure complete, timely, and accurate reports are produced each day.Being a resident of Tuscaloosa, he is an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan when he is not riding his motorcycle.
Sean WilliamsCoordination & Economics Analyst, Phillips 66 CompanySean has been with Phillips 66 (previously ConocoPhillips and Conoco) for 24 years. Ten of those years were in operations and six were in rotating equipment. Over the past eight years, he has been the Coordination and Economics Analyst at the Billings Refinery.Beyond this role, Sean’s other business interests include W3C standards and “big data”.
Ales SoudekGlobal Solutions Group, OSIsoft LLCAles has years of experience with the application of the PI System, Sigmafine, PI Asset Framework, PI Event Frames, Analytics, and process modeling. He works on applying PI Asset Framework to create templates, models, and applications for Oil & Gas, Mining, Chemicals, Pulp & Paper, Water Utilities, and Energy.In the past, Ales contributed to a large number of Sigmafine installations and Sigmafine 3 to 4 conversions. In his spare time, Ales feeds the 168 animals on his ranch in Texas.
Roberto SpoladoreCEO and co-founderRoberto Spoladore is the CEO and a shareholder of Pimsoft. Spoladore has more than 30 years of software industry experience and worked for major IT companies like Cap Gemini and CSC.In 1995, he co-founded Synapsis, an Italian IT company, becoming partner of OSIsoft, and then in the 2001 he founded, together with current shareholders, Pimsoft.Under his management, the company has evolved, keeping the focus on the OSIsoft partnership, finalizing the acquisition of Sigmafine from OSIsoft at the end of the 2009, and making Pimsoft one of the leading company in Data Quality.
Massimo GalliVice President and co-founderMassimo Galli is Vice President and a shareholder of Pimsoft. Massimo has been working for 25+ years for major companies such as Cap Gemini, CSC, Elsag Bailey in providing solutions for the process and manufacturing industries. In 2001, he founded, together with current shareholders, Pimsoft.In the last decade, Massimo has managed the expansion of the Sigmafine business sustaining its transformation into a value-added framework improving Data Quality for process and manufacturing industries.
Roberto Linares, Ph.D.Vice President, PimsoftDr. Roberto Linares is Vice President at Pimsoft Inc. He has more than fifteen years of experience in applying information systems to enable customers to optimize their process and production accounting systems.Roberto holds Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and Texas A&M University at College Station, respectively. Prior to joining Pimsoft in 2010, Roberto was the Director of Advanced Applications at OSIsoft, LLC. At OSIsoft he designed new applications and optimization algorithms related to Sigmafine in the fields of data reconciliation and production accounting.Roberto currently manages Sigmafine sales in the Americas and APAC. He also collaborates with a network of resellers and implementation partners to expand the reach of Sigmafine software in different industries such as refining, LNG, and petrochemicals.
Bernard MorneauBusiness Development Executive, PimsoftBernard has been in his current role since April 1st, 2014. He is involved in expanding the Sigmafine business of Pimsoft worldwide.Prior to this assignment, Bernard served as executive of OSIsoft, a Strategic Alliance of Pimsoft, where he held the positions of General Manager of OSIsoft Canada, Vice-President Worldwide Sales, Executive Vice President and President of OSIsoft LLC from 2001 to 2012.Bernard is a seasoned executive with engineering and technology experience and a proven track record of successful business development, sales and operations management. In 1991, he co-founded Cogexel, a software development and integration company, which later became the OSIsoft Distributorship in Canada and was acquired by OSIsoft LLC in 2001.Before this entrepreneurial phase of his career, Bernard occupied diverse technical, management and executive positions in the metallurgical, chemical and oil and gas industries in eastern Canada. Bernard earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 1978.
Carlos QuintanaEngineering Manager, PimsoftCarlos has more than 20 years of experience working with Sigmafine. He holds degrees in Business Administration and Political Science as well as a MS degree in Management, Computing, and Systems.Since 2010, Carlos has worked at Pimsoft in the capacity of Sigmafine Engineering Manager. Prior to Pimsoft, Carlos worked for OSIsoft, Inc. in the Sigmafine Development Group from 1999 to 2010. During that time, he was involved with special projects at OSIsoft’s San Leandro headquarters for two years. From 1993 to 1999, Carlos also worked for KBC Advanced Technologies as Sigmafine Project Manager.Carlos’ work with Sigmafine includes Sigmafine implementations, Sigmafine 3 to Sigmafine 4 migrations, consulting, technical support, training, development and Project Management.
Luca GiovannoniProject Manager, PimsoftLuca joined Pimsoft in 2002 and is currently a Sigmafine Project Manager and Senior Consultant. His work with Sigmafine has involved Sigmafine and PI project implementations, integration projects, migrations, coaching, training, and technical support.Prior to Pimsoft, Luca worked for CSC Italy in the Automation division as a PI and Sigmafine Consultant for three years.
Sandeep KamaniSigmafine Specialist, PimsoftSandeep Kamani has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineer from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station. He became a part of OSIsoft’s Sigmafine Team in 2008 before moving to Pimsoft’s Sigmafine Team in 2010. He has 6 years of extensive experience working with Pimsoft and OSIsoft products.As a Senior Engineer at Pimsoft, Sandeep has played multiple roles such as Project Engineer and Project Manager during various phases of Sigmafine implementation projects at over 15 plants in the Oil & Gas Industry. Sandeep has been instrumental in the development of multiple Sigmafine applications by generating ideas and specifications. Sandeep also excels at facilitating win-win scenarios for Pimsoft and its customers.
